Period-over-Period Analysis

Run previous-year sales comparison charts from CSV or Excel files. This is the first chart-family plugin: it produces IBCS column, line, by-period, bridge and small-multiple charts, then writes audit files, an evidence pack and a Word report for Codex interpretation.

Workflow

Codex asks only for material mappings that cannot be inferred from the file, then runs the chart workflow and interprets the generated evidence.

Prepared comparison data

The plugin prepares current-period and previous-year data before charting, then renders the approved IBCS chart formats for the generated PNGs.

Evidence pack

Every run writes a manifest, audit snapshot, chart contexts and follow-up requests so a reporting plugin can reuse the evidence directly.

Charts

AdventureWorks small-multiples year-over-year chart by subcategory — **Small multiples by subcategory** The same AC vs PY comparison repeated by selected subcategory, generated by the actual-vs-previous-year small-multiple renderer.

Outputs

The workflow writes PNG charts, CSV/XLSX tables, audit JSON, a Word report and evidence_pack/manifest.json. Codex uses those files to explain what moved and which follow-up analysis is worth running.
