FIX DIMENSION PLOT
Fix dimension bridge analysis is the type of bridge analysis you are accustomed to and you have seen hundreds of times.
The dimensions are the same in every row. These dimensions can be simply variance types as in this waterfall...
...or can be associated with variance type and with one or more columns.
The fix-dimension bridge analysis waterfalls should cover the full amount of the variance value, with no residuals. In this case the residual is tied to the fact that we limited the number of results. If we change the setting to 9 results
... and nine results is enough to cover all the values in the dimension, the balance goes to zero
FIX DIMENSION VARIANCE CHART
Choose run "Fix dimension bridge".
Choose desired variance calculation.
Click submit...
...to get chart
SMALL MULTIPLES FIX DIMENSION VARIANCE CHART
In "Choose dimension for small multiples" select the dimension you want to use to break down your variance.
Click on 🚀 Submit to get your small multiples plot.
VARIANCE CHART ALONG A DIMENSION
If you do not want a small multiples plot, click on the ➕ sign below the dropdown menu and set the Plot small multiples widget to False
You will get a single waterfall chart along the chosen dimension.
It will show the number of items you selected, and the rest as balance.
ENABLE PLOT COMMENTS
It is possible to add comments to the chart, in the style suggested by the IBCS standard.
Enable comments by setting the "enable plot comments" widget to True.
You can find the "enable plot comments" checkbox in the Run widget expander.
Hit the Submit button.
A text box will appear above each chart.
Add your comment, one chart at a time.
Once you have finished writing the comment for a chart, click on the 🚀 Submit.
Your comment will appear above the chart title
The downloaded image of the chart contains the comment.
